Communicate with DNS Server?
Hi,
I'm having some problems with my new web hosting provider. After my domain was transfered to the name servers, my domain name is now no longer recognized.
When I switched the domain, it came back and told me that the name server I was switching to was not authorative for my domain. Could this mean they never set it up in their name server?
My question is, how can I "talk" to their name server to see if my domain is in there? I remember that there is a way to do this and I think it was through Telnet but I can't remember.
Any help would be appreciated..

use telnet and connect to port 53. thats the domain nameserver.
then you can start a conversation. if you need to use the domain nameserver protocol, you can search www.w3.org.
good luck.
