    Hello everyone,

As you can get from my posting, I am very fresh to Visual InterDev.
I don't know if I missed something while installing VID or
have not set some option, but when I try to create new project I'm asked in wizard for server to be used, this is drop-down box, but I got nothing in there.
I have installed: MTS, PWS and Visual InterDev servers, do I miss anything else, what am I suppose to type in?

if you go to your 'Personal Web Manager' within 'Microsoft Personal Web Server' and select MAIN there is a STOP/START button. If the button says START click the button and it will change to STOP.
The text above it should say web publishing is on. Your home page is available at:
    http://[machine name]

It is the machine name that you need to enter. Otherwise enter the word 'local'. I hope this helps.

I still have problem, when I type in either the computer name or "local" I'm getting "Unable to contact web server http://dev_1" or "local". Just for dev_1, which is the machine name doesn't take as long as for any other name.
Also when I click on PWS screen link to http://dev_1, in the browser I get: "Server Application Error

The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the
event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance."

Cool Unable to contact web server

It took me a while (with breaks though ), but I finally found an answer, I am using proxy server, for setup on proxy server machines there are detailed instructions at:
