Some nutter a couple of years ago tried to get all the commuters crossing London Bridge to wear a crappy cardboard hat as his entry for the Turner Prize.
I still haven't worked out whether it was a spoof or not, because these days, you just can't tell.

The installation, The Lights Going On and Off, is Martin Creed's contribution to the show displaying the work of the shortlist for the £20,000 prize.
I bet he pondered on that name for weeks 
I'm going to enter *IDEA WITHDRAWN BECAUSE IT'S ACTUALLY QUITE GOOD*
