I need a new narrarator.
Hey, all. I hope someone can help me. I am programming an RPG style game and using MS Agent as an in game narrarator. I have a good handle on this, but I don't know how to design my own character. Does anyone know how to do this. Microsoft's Merlin is cool, but i want to incorporate a completly original character. Thanx for helping.

I don't think it's easy to make that sort of stuff... so your best bet would be searching the net for some more of that stuff...

The "real" game companies hire people and recorded their voices in prerecorded sayings ("Ow!", "Hey, come over here!", "Look out!", etc.). While I don't think you'll pay people , you could get some friends to do voiceovers...

Good Ol' Platypus
Do something simple like they did in Theme Hospital, and code it yourself. The API they use is huge.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
(Just a heads-up)

He means the Agent character that pops up. You know, the visual part =).
I believe that MS has a tool set on thier web site (take a look over on the Agent developer site on MSDN) for making agent characters.

Wait, now I'm confused
Do you want the visual part, or the voice?

I thought you could play just the voice, without having to show the character

hey why don't you just use the voice of that same api, but draw the character completely in-game instead of using that big-ol' microsoft thingy?

If you want just the image, capture it with PrintScreen or something and display it by yourself

MS has a tool on their website, which you can use to design own chars and to edit their voice.
I dunno where they have it now, just search for AGENT on microsoft.com
