Hi Folks,
Do you have any good recommendations for a good VB book? I'm just starting to learn the software, and pretty much relying on this forum with my questions, but it's time to get a GOOD book to learn all this stuff. I'm thinking of a beginner's book for VB, something not too complicated.
Any ideas? Just put your posts in. Thanks
Thanks for reading my post!

Beginners books
I would also like to know what books you can recommend. Please tell us what books that are good for (kind of) beginners to VB 6.
Have anyone read Visual Basic from the ground up or Wrox beginning visual basic 6, what do you think of these books? Any ideas, suggestions or thoughts?

Questions
Is that a good book?
Do you learn much from that one? Or is it too simple or is it perfect? Does the book take up Api and essential VB stuff?

1. Pure Visual Basic (published by Sams) This book really is worth its weight in Plutonium.
2. Visual Basic Developer's Handbook (if 1500 pages is your idea of "handbook"!)
3. VB in easy steps (for a fast start, very very basic but its a good place to begin)

vb6 from the ground up, by gary cornell, osborne publishing...
good book megatron.. i like it too...
its too big for me to read the whole thing, i know the basics, and quite alot of the intermediate stuff, so I jumped to the advanced..... but its about 1000 pages and $35 bucks.... great deal..
and its really good. it is literally FROM THE GROUND UP.. it teaches you how to use the toolbox, etc.
but a book, I dont recomend for the C++ beginner(not trying to get off subject) is Visual C++ from the ground up... cant remember the author, same publisher... but the C++ book is not from the ground up.. you must know how to use it(VC++)
and I have no idea how to use it.. I know a little of the language, but i have no idea how to use it.. I mean the IDE...
oh well, but I seriously recomend VB6 from the ground up... good book.

Try "Visual Basic Power Toolkit" by Mansfield Petroutsos.
It's real great.

Yes, you learn a lot. The book is about 2.5 inches thick, and it covers many of the strong topics and it's great for a complete beginner.
