    cross posters

Other than telling people not to cross-post the same question to 10 different forums is there any practical solution?

We have one poster who hits about 5-10 forums with each question. He/she keeps doing it.

Am i the only one that couldnt give a rat's arse about the post count???? i dont get it... U dont win anything, get any acclaim (apart from chris's knighthood ) , get smarter, increase ur ability to pick up etc etc etc... I also dont give a toss where it is posted... people come here to get help and there is a risk of ppl becoming overbearing with new people and ruining the fun nature of the forum.

    PS 2 things
    1) where is Jim Brown.. do u guys realise that he hasnt been back since that awful suicide thread some weeks ago
    2) Where is Nucleus? I miss aggravating him
    3) Why wont Flibbert go out and play?
    oops thats three

Here is some evidence just found.

I guess we can launch a new user education programme and simultaneously start bugging the mods to delete the extra threads in the irrelevant forums.

The problem is if a user posted the same thread in both the General section and the Database section, and if I replied to the General one and say Jim replied to the Database one, and if one of the threads was deleted, one of us will lose a post and also some advice / solution.

So that leaves us with only one sensible option: Educate the members.

Put all these things in your sigs so you are sure the new members get them.

Use meaningfull thread titles. And add "[Resolved]" in the thread title when you have got a satisfactory response.
And if that response was mine, please think about giving me a rep. I like to collect them!
