Cool new button control - Testers needed (help writer also :))

    Hi,

I'm developing a new command button that I hope will behave like Office XP buttons. Right know its at an alpha stage, and has very little functionality, but I'd like you to test what is already done, so I can detect errors early and then continue development.

The final product will be freeware.

Please post here if you're interested.

BTW, I also need someone to write the help file for the final version... I don't have much to offer (well, nothing really) do

    Thanks in advance.

Of course! it's completely customizable. You can change all 15 colors (that's right, 15). The button has 5 states:

    Normal
    Hover
    Active (or "mousedown")
    Selected (not yet implemented )
    Disabled

And you can customize each color for the text, background, and border.

You can also select any bitmap, icon, cursor, jpg, or gif. And you can position the caption in 9 places. And the picture left, right, above, below, front, or behind the caption.

And I plan to implement many other cool features.

Topica server is down check back in a couple of hours to join the list.

The first beta will be available for download next monday

Peet, the length of the help file depends on what I will finally include in the first version. If you want to help, you may start writing the standard format for the CHM file, and I'll let you know which features will likely remain the same so you can start documenting those. If you ever want to quit, I'd understad, and of course I'll give you credit (along with every beta tester that wants so).

If you upload just the OCX (and any of its dependencies other than stuff that comes with VB) I'll test it.

At least one person doesn't have any problems (yet!)

DaoK: tell me your PC specs, and in the mean time, try manually registering these files (all in your system folder):

    GXDErrH.DLL
    GXDCore.DLL
    GXDXLib.DLL
    SSubTmr6.DLL

    peet:
    Ivan Vega R.
Support e-mail: [email protected] (only for final version products)
    Web: not yet
    Graphics: none

    filburt1:
http://www.hemac.com.mx/gxdbtn.html (up in about 30 minutes)

BTW, please register in the Topica list or send your requests to [email protected], that way it'll be easier for me to track all requests/questions/etc.

Thank you all for your interest
