Public variables

Hi,
What is the best way to declare public variables in an ASP script?

I tried including a .inc file as
< ! #include file = "testincl.inc" >

where testincl.inc contains
public str

But i still cannot access str as a public variable.

you could create a session variable, and then request it from each page.

I already have a couple of session variables defined in one of the server events. I am not able to access them in any of the client events, though it works fine in the other server events.
Can you give me an example?
