Hello ppls! I'm making an Rpg Maker with visual basic and I'm having trouble with making maps and tilesets. What I mean is, I wanna have it so you can save maps to a file and when it loads those maps it reads from the selected tileset and puts all the stuff on the screen with BitBlt. Right now, I just have it with a grass tile and it puts that accross the picturebox a zillion times.
Also, just for the sake of asking, how can I do collision detection and how can I go fullscreen?
Yes.... I'm a beginner...

You can find an example RPG engine which draws tiles on the screen on my website. To get fullscreen you should use DDraw which is also explained on my page.
Hope this helps

Actually, I have been to your site and it has been great help. Right now I'm trying to decipher the code of loading the map in the huge rpg example. Do you have a program that makes maps, if so, could you e-mail me the source? My e-mail is [email protected].
I downloaded the scrolling demo and I was working with it to make it more of a "true" rpg engine thingy. What I mean is, when it starts scrolling the player still moves. With both, the player is actually moving twice as fast when it starts scrolling. Also, when you go within the scroll distance, even if your not moving its scrolls. I fixed those 2 problems. Since you seem much more experienced then me you can probably figure out how, since it was pretty easy. Thanks!
