Been seeing a lot of talk in the news about these massive data centers. I decided today to actually read an article about one that's being built in Louisiana. This one paragraph raised a lot of concerns.

Phillip May, Entergy Louisiana’s chief executive, was involved in every step of the process, from securing a tax rebate on data center equipment to buying nearby land and drafting nondisclosure agreements for government officials. The energy company’s promise to build dedicated natural gas turbines for Meta — enough to power the city of New Orleans seven times over — is what separated Louisiana’s bid from those of rival states.
I don't know if large data centers are a good or bad thing. But I never like it when business is done using NDA's, especially government officials having to sign them. Also, it will consume the power of 12 New Orleans. That's mind blowing. I don't like the fact that power will come from natural gas turbines. Though I realize there is no viable alternative at this point in time.

It's sort of hard to get my head wrapped around how much processing power these places have.
