Add a Black-List feature to the forum

Every forum will have some arguments and mutual attacks, and the best way to reduce this is a 'Black-List'. IMO, a 'Black-List' is a stricter way of isolating each other than an 'Ignore-List.' I hope vbForums could provide a 'Black-List' feature.

This is how I envision the 'Black-List' feature:
If I put someone on the 'blacklist,' then:
    (1) That person can't see any of my threads and can't participate in discussions in threads I start.
    (2) That person can't see any of my comments in other threads.
    (3) I can't see any of that person's threads or comments.
    (4) I also can't see any code that person's posts in CodeBank.

If the forum could provide the above 'Black-List' feature, there would be a lot less meaningless arguing here.

This site uses an off the shelf/store bought software called vBulletin. While there are a huge number of Tweeks and Twerks on the internet, we don't use any of them here.

And the good news bad news is that vBulletin does have a "Blacklist" function.....but it doesn't do what you're asking about.

vBulletin manages blacklists through built-in options to block unwanted IP addresses, specific email domains, and user accounts.

After Olaf left this forum, its value dropped by 40%, but it still has 60% of its value. *****, there are also some really good people, and they are the reason I stay.

If the Forums could achieve the following feature, it would be a big improvement. Because it could prevent those boring people from steering the thread off-topic:
    Code:
    (1) That person can't see any of my threads and can't participate in discussions in threads I start.
The boring debates that go off-topic and have nothing to do with technology have already caused too much damage to this forum.

Re: Add a Black-List feature to the forum

I was once in a prolonged clash of egos/personalities with another user here, and if you're anything like me you can carry the bad vibes with you out of the forum, which is no good at all. That said, the main thing is for you not to see the comments from the other person if they offer no constructive criticism and only end up in fights. Go to the user's page and click Add to ignore list, then confirm you want to add them to the list. Works wonders, I promise
