Another image deletion bug
I was looking to update my cTaskDialog thread to update with a new version, and found that now even the images I moved to VBF myself (due to the other image replacement bug) have had their URLs replaced with invalid ones, many changed to [img]https://www.vbforums.com/[/img] without the rest of the image url.
They're still present in image hosting thread I made, so it's another invalid URL substitution issue.
Should I just not bother trying to post images?

The moderators and I are going to discuss this off line.

fafalone - Are you still trying to use [img] BB tags? I'm just trying to find a pattern in your posts because sometimes you're using [ATTACH] and sometime you're using [img]. What is your decision process when picking between the two?

Re: Another image deletion bug
FYI - dday9 - the one and only found/created a ChatGPT that gives the impression that this is a known issue and it suggested a solution.
I have created a new Service Ticket for the IT guys to review.

The patterns are older posts I generally used imgur from the start; since the bugs, there's a 5 image limit, so I attach the first 5 (since there haven't been any issues with images as attachments to the post they're meant for) and then have no choice but to link from elsewhere with img.

Re: Another image deletion bug
Let's assume for a second that the Service Ticket doesn't resolve the issue; I want to try to find an alternative just in case.
I see where you've added several attachments to a thread in the Projects > Support Images forum, have you considered dedicating one thread in the Support Images per topic where you have a project with several images?
For example, create one thread in Support Images for ucShellBrowse, one thread for ucShellTree, etc. After that you could then add the img tags to their respective threads using the VbForum attachment url, e.g.:
Code:
[IMG]https://www.vbforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid={change me}[/IMG]
I have already confirmed that the img tags work using the attachment ID and as of writing this it's been 2.5 days without the images getting blown away by the cache in this test: https://www.vbforums.com/showthread....=1#post5688844

Re: Another image deletion bug
That's what the cTaskDialog thread was using.
I don't know what the trigger it but it happens randomly after weeks or months (as does the original replacing off-site hotlinked images). The ones in my ucShellBrowse thread are still working years later.

fafalone and dday9 - The IT guys have updated the service ticket with the following:
I’ve made some updates to VBForums - would you try testing when you get a chance and we can validate that the external image replacement doesn’t trigger?
Please review one of the big threads in questions as often as possible and report back.

fafalone:
I did some preliminary testing and found that the image tags are working again so long as you do From URL and you do not check the Retrieve remote file and reference locally option.
Doing this will generate an image BB tag with the URL set like this: [img]https://www.example.com/image.jpeg[/img]
I believe this change also fixed the URL randomly changing to a self-hosted vbforums URL that then breaks. For example, one of your edits using imgur:
