So it's a good method if the loan interest is 4% and the policy growth is 6%.
Not necessarily. What if you take my 15 year example, but both the loan and growth are at 4% and I don't repay any of the loan? Well, the cash value the next year would be $208k (+$8k) and the loan balance would be $83,200 (+$3,200). That means that the cash value earned $4,800 more than the loan balance. Spread it out over 10 years (assuming I'm still not paying the loan) and the cash value would be $296k (+$96k) and the loan at $118.4k (+$30.4k) meaning the cash value grew $65.6k more.

Your applying the 4% over the entire $200k. My thought was don't over fund, put in $120k and $80k in savings. Then no need for a loan.
Anyway, it's not an issue I'll have to deal with. I'm way passed that stage of my life. It was just a little mental gymnastics.
I'm glad your back to increasing your post count.

Before I switched careers over to software development, I had my series 6 and sold securities.
I hated every minute of it. Software development is much more enjoyable to me.

Re: Post Race!
Now THIS is what I expect out of Albuquerque: An afternoon of heartburn!
The food here is great, but the state moto is "red or green?" which refers to the color of chili added to EVERYTHING. I just ate a small plate of nachos that was quite literally larger than my head. Fortunately, nachos do crush down or else it would have been unworkable. The guy who served it (who may have been the chef, as he didn't appear to be a waiter) said, "aren't you glad you didn't go with the large?"
Yeah. Yeah, I was glad I didn't go with the large.

Technically, it isn't JUST red or green, as you can also order "Christmas", which would be a mix of red and green.

I live in the south because I cannot live in the cold and it is much too cold right now.
If it were the 1700s, I would died, and I have accepted that.

He's doing fine. It's his wife who isn't doing well. I went down for a visit...it has been eye opening. He's being a 24/7 nurse, which is a bit hard on a 90+ year old.

I somewhat prefer the cold to the heat. If it is cold, I can put on more clothes. If it is hot....well, people start complaining when you take off too much.

90+ and still living independently, well done. My dads mom lived to be 100. But she wasn't living independently.

Cold and me don't get alone. The cold intensifies some muscular problems I have. I can now understand why old people like Florida. Also, the older I get the more time my body needs to adapt to changes in temperature.

Your taxes that complex??? I use H&R Block software. Makes it pretty quick and simple. I really like how they can download the data from my Fidelity account and do all capital gain/cost basis calculations. It's worth the $40 for the ease and peace of mind.
