imgur took a commercial decision to withdraw from just the UK because of UK specific regulations. Their decision does not affect the EU at all.
If you're a user in the UK and need to access imgur content, then simply use a VPN.
Since your tone suggests you're against using imgur in the future, I would suggest that you use a VPN to get the content you've hosted on their website (presumably for free all these years) and then host it on VBForums using the manage attachments approach that Steve suggested.
