    Re: Post election prediction

    Smells bad, too.

Trump's team tried hard after both 2016 and 2020, to come up with evidence of voter fraud. They went to court over 60 times, but once they got in there, where they had to show evidence to back up their claims, they stated that they were not asserting fraud. Those court records were public from the start, but since they aren't Youtube videos, Dil probably hasn't seen them. So, the people who were paid to find evidence couldn't find a single thing that they were willing to back up with even flimsy evidence. With nothing to go on aside from "making stuff up", they have fallen back on that.

Voting in the US is decentralized. It isn't run by the federal government, but by individual states who follow whatever rules they have come up with. Those aren't standardized, either. That means that the claims of fraud are almost offensively ignorant because it would require so MANY people to be involved or else it would both have no impact AND be blatantly obvious. To even make it slightly hidden, it would require spreading the fraud across a whole lot of voting precincts, which would require an absurd number of people to be involved (and they'd have to have kept utterly silent ever since). For even that to matter, the same would have to have been spread across numerous states, some of which would have required Republicans to be involved. All this, and they couldn't come up with a single thing, so they lie about it.

    Probably pretty dark in there.
And he can see his own teeth

I find it a wonderful twist that Dil (and others in some chats I've come across so it's obviously a talking point) is now saying that "missing" Dem votes are evidence of fraud in 2020, because back then they were loudly declaring that "missing" Rep votes were evidence of fraud. Personally, I can only conclude that Biden's 2020 victory MUST, therefore, be evidence a Republican plot in 2016... only logical conclusion.

Zero chance that the end result is a popular vote loss. He's still up by just under 4 million votes. Harris is winning California by 2.2 million votes with 72% in, according to CNN. Extrapolating that to 100% and being generous, it might be 3.2 million all said and done. The other states with votes out might collectively end up closing in on the lead by a few hundred thousand at best. Also, there are some red states that are still counting according to CNN's map. I would expect in the end he will win the popular vote by at least 2 million votes, maybe closer to 2.5 million.

This was an economic election. Trump has the morals and character of a pig, and most people acknowledge that, even those that voted for him, but they still felt he would bring them better economic times. He's the only president to have never had an approval rating that reached 50% since measurement began.

If he trashes the economy, the way he has promised to do, he'll tank just as he did last time.

However, when it comes to "game over", that's what people are afraid of. Trump has talked about subverting democracy, as have the people around him.

It's funny watching that old gargoyle James Carville gnawing his own fur off. Lately he's cursing the DNC, PBS and the networks, and the electorate for decades of divisive identity politics. He uses stronger words himself.

Not that he wants any policy change, he'd only change the marketing of the globalist authoritarianism Dems want. A philosophy barely distinguishable from that of a certain vegetarian, anti-smoking, failed painter.

No the country has not moved to the center, they've merely been heard again this time around.

But maybe CNN will offer people those dunce caps they're wearing post-election. Van Jones will probably be selling them as part of his new Signature Collection product line.

"Crazy" has lost on every policy position.

So, now we have a guy who has boasted about assaulting women, who a jury of his peers felt was more likely than not to have raped one woman, and now he's nominated a guy who's best defense was, "I thought she was over 18."

The party of "family values" has sold it's morals for power. Now it's selling everything else it can find.

I'd say the government has shifted seriously to the right. The final vote tally will be @ 50% Trump and 48% Harris. So I don't see a major shift in the people.

But I agree that is probably going to be a very rough ride. Especially for civil rights, equality and the economy.

I kept trying to think up a joke about this, but the rest of the world probably looks at our habits with slack-jawed disbelief already. It's hard to find a joke to be made there. Heck, I live in Mormon country, where stockpiling food is mandated by their religion.

I expect a recession. Of course, I've been expecting a recession for years. The number of times inflation has been brought down without a recession can be counted on half the thumbs of one hand. The big question in my mind is what Trump will do with tariffs. From a global economic standpoint, that's likely the biggest question. The US is still the largest economy by a fair margin. Tariffs will be met with retaliation, and we have seen what that type of policy does globally, but nobody really knows whether Trump will (or can, for that matter) impose tariffs, and how high.

I think , but quote on me as I might be wrong, that Trump did have phone calls before with Russia and China as to what the global goods distribution would be.
Also if I'm not mistaken the tariffs are for p.e. cars that are imported as a whole but I think, again, quote me if I am wrong that the final assembly on many car brands are done in US or non chinamexicoeurope countries.
Also Germany is bricking bricks right now so I think they will follow Trump as a good puppy.

Trump has talked about tariffs across the board, with higher tariffs on Chinese goods. There ARE high tariffs on Chinese cars, currently, which seems a bit odd to me. Normally, the US keeps out foreign cars just using safety standards. Did Chinese cars meet those standards?

The tariffs on Chinese cars are such that they aren't sold here. Mexico is a different matter, since there is a trade agreement (which Trump signed) with them. One of the various things Trump said was that he'd put 20% tariffs on everything. I kind of think he won't, but if he did, then inflation in the US should jump dramatically.

No, you aren't wrong. He's said that, too. That's one of the reasons I am uncertain about the future. He started with one number, then seemed to think, "if a little is good, then more would be better." It doesn't seem like something he can do anyways, as the executive can't impose a tax, but both he and Biden appear to have unilaterally imposed some tariffs. I don't know the rules around this one.

Of course now the establishment duopoly is doing as much damage as it can before they get ousted.

Look at the ludicrous repealing of Social Security GPO and WEP provisions. Nothing like handing back a benefit intended for low-wage earners to douches who didn't pay into the system. Just for good measure it undermines the solvency of the system even more.

But even if it passes and the Dodderer In Chief signs off on it, this attempt to buy future votes of greedy scum will most likely be rolled back come 2025.

I guess we know who doesn't give a damn about the working poor or the Social Security system. These idiots, their clients, and their "Unfairness Act."

Contrast this with the unfounded and barely theoretical "Trump will eliminate Social Security" that the "sleep your way to the top" campaign kept spouting.

I can't remember a time when sane people weren't the majority so I can't answer the question

As for my life, as I've said before, this will have very little effect on me. Unless Trump completely crashes the economy but I'm not convinced that's going to happen.

But I do have children, grand children and great grand children. I'd like them to live in a world with less hate, racism and more equality. I see Trump moving the world in the opposite direction.

The middle ages and the Roman expansion have nothing to do with who's sane and weren't controlled by the majority.

As for "woke ages" , I wouldn't say the term "woke" has been around long enough to call it an age. I also don't thing you know what that term means. It certainly isn't an indicator of someones sanity. You might want to look up the definition.

But like you said "I don't know".
