The guy in blue looks like he's stretching, which is often done before vigorous exercise. The woman appears to be just chillin'.

Well, this scene kind of looks like what some threads here devolve into... XP - Is that Golden Axe or something? It's been ages since I last played that. :-)

I'm not much of a gamer, so the humor is over my head. I don't even play phone games. I do own a PowKiddy V90 handheld and play a few of the simple retrogames on that when stuck in a waiting room or something.

To me those look like characters from an early version of Final Fantasy. But as I said, I'm pretty gaming illiterate.

Well dilettante, then you and I must be a couple of idiots... It took me minutes to even remember the game's name. I didn't get corrected, merely a bunch of emojis, so I guess I got it right... But since some people can't be bothered to communicate beyond a few emojis so I will have to do some more guessing...

You're right. It's Golden Axe. I played it quite a bit when it came out.

I'm not old or fart, I still play the axe one. Unfortunately our romantic period in Greece started a little late as we where 10-15 years back on technology from US and other countries.
If you missed the romantic era you don't know what you have missed so you can't talk about it.You can "act" that you know what you are talking about.
I exist to poke on vaxbies and NWO freaks as the banned one cannot do that.

I don't want to go in there. Who lived it, lived it.
Except if this in good fun, so ,yes, bad graphs (it's called graphics not art) and good gameplay...Unless if you had an Amiga. That was good on all accounts.
I stopped playing as soon as graphics took over and gameplay stepped aside.
Nowadays Larian is doing some effort but unfortunately I do not have the time for games.
P.S I never played Golden Axe was something that my grandparents told as a myth. I never knew it could be true.
It's like saying "I never played Pac-Man" . Let me see you mock on the big P.

I just pretend I know what I am talking about and Sapator knew everything the very instant he was born and defines the romantic era as the time when he was just a wee little baby, which was only a few years ago...

I played pong. I played Hunt The Wumpus. I played Adventure. I played Pac-Man in arcades and on handhelds. I had a Vectrex. And yet I still have no idea when the romantic era of gaming would have been. Games have always pushed the hardware, not the other way around. As hardware progressed, games progressed into new areas. It's been more evolutionary than revolutionary...all the way along.

Re: A friendly reminder for mods...

Shaggy, I know perfectly well what Golden Axe is (I actually somewhat played it back when it was relatively recent but I was never that good at video games) but I didn't want to be a know at all about it... And speaking of games pushing the hardware. I thought I owned a pretty decent pc until I nearly fried my previous pc's graphic's card playing Ori and the Blind Forest... And... I nearly fried my joints from the repetitive strain because I am a senile old geezer who oughn't be playing kidddy games anymore... LOL LOL - Did I mention I wasn't that good at games and that latter game also nearly fried my brain? LOL

    EDIT:
And if sapator needs a forum jester to laugh at for being an idiot, he can go ahead as far as I am concerned...

I may have missed the point. Does this refer to struggling to work within the hardware limitations of the day where resolution and color palettes were very limited? Or "bad" in the sense of a preponderance of gratuitously bawdy images? "Gazongas: Warrior Queen of Tannonheim" or something?

Or how about the days where music consisted of beeps or you had to wait ages for some game to load off of a floppy or even a tape? Perhaps that's what romance is supposed to be...

Well, I certainly missed the point. That's why I was asking. I don't feel there have been any particular ages when it comes to computer games. As the tech advanced, the games advanced. Game play was limited, graphics were limited, but creativity seemed to stay about the same. The stories were as good as the platform allowed.

So by definition and since everything is involved, there was no romantic era of gaming.
So be it but accidentally you seem to know what the romantic era seems to be as you closely define it.
Anyhow it was good will intentional posting that got sideways, so , free NIYA and I'm done.

Me? I didn't closely define anything. I said I've played video games from pong to the modern day and can't define any era's within them, aside from "text based adventures"/2D graphic/3D graphic.

"P.S. What's wrong with Pete? Did he swallowed a lobster or something?" - Why Sapator don't you know? I am just a lunatic who pretends to know things but knows nothing in reality. Shell Shocked, yeah I am just senile dutch lunatic with his piss poor attempts at english and delusional in thinking he can contribute anything worthwhile here. What else do we have here? Sapator who appears to imply I am the forum jester with his attempts at english. Just throw whatever which you can think of implying insanity. Whatever.

Either we can try have a normal conversation or throw more insults and jokes around. If you prefer the latter I am happy to oblige. Have fun calling a me a loon! 😁😆😜

If I insulted you somewhere it was not intentional and I apologize. My posts are in good fan else you would real, REALLY, understand it.

And since, if I understand, you are Dutch, as a point of good gesture, please except one of those (as most of your beers suck!! Muhahaaarrr! , except Hertog Jan Dubbel that is pretty good but pretty expensive)

Dawww poor Sapator didn't really mean to call the crazy angry dutchman a loon and is apologizing? How cute, and I guess trying to insult me by deriding dutch beer is your way of doing that. Good one Sapator, you are really good at making apologies! I humbly bow to your humility and accept your apology! And don't worry about the beer because that's the one thing I don't give a **** about, so the joke is on you! muhahaha

You don't recognize Hunt The Wumpus? That was one of the early computer games. I was able to play it a few years back, too. Either the rules have changed or I have, because when I played it more recently it was totally winnable, whereas when I first played it, back in the 80s, there seemed to be an element of luck.

Do any countries really have bad beer anymore, or is it just a matter of not looking around? In the US, we probably have a reputation built on things like Bud and Coors, but the craft brewing is so ubiquitous by now that you can find whatever you want with only a bit of effort.

I don't care, of course, but for those who do, it just seems too easy these days.

Ye, well if you don't take an apology and don't recognize my humor after all those years, the joke is on you.
The whole world is not turning around you so, it is what it is.

There is a LOT of bad beer. Should I badmouth brands? The Green one, aka dutch piss, the Red one, aka German puke, Badtastewiser etc. Lot of good ones tho. The one I posted it's very good at 5% and 10% volume p.e.

As to the beer I very rarely drink non-alcoholic beer. - I am such a looser. ;-)
