Shellhacks Hackathon
Well, I just got accepted to a hackathon at FIU where I can design any project I want, including games, VR, or even rasberry PI robotics. And I have 36 hours to wrap up any project starting on September 9th. Any tips for such hackathons? I never did one before, so Im ambitious to test my 30 years of coding experience. Might do a VR game using Unity. The prizes include one of either 8 Macbook Air laptops, 8 IPads, 8 Apple Watches and 8 3rd generation Airpods. However one lucky attendee will have a chance to win a PS5! Hopefully I can win. Any tips welcome.

Well it should be something exciting and flashy so we can at least rule out boring stuff like data-centric projects.
Robotics sounds exciting.

I could do one connected to a server to allow more than one player, but that would require a 2nd Quest 2

Ugh, 4 more days until the competition. Im trying to get a classmate of mine to come with me to help but he hasnt been approved yet. I'm nervous as hell o.o and the worst part is, is that my assets aren't ready yet, such as textures, sounds, 3d objects, etc. Still have a lot of work to do.

Re: Shellhacks Hackathon
36 hours? that's quite a bit of time. Usually the ones I've done are 24-hrs. Last one I did was 10a-10a the next day. We were one of the few groups that came out with a completely viable, usable prototype. Didn't even get an honorable mention. I don't think the committee understood our use-case. But eh, what ever. We had fun. Especially at around 2am, when we realized we only had another 8 hours to finish it off and the adrenalin suddenly kicks in.

Well, i went solo and submitted 12 minutes late. I was disqualified for not submitting on time and wasnt keeping an eye on the clock
I made the 1982 Tron Light Cycles in VR. Microsoft was one of the sponsers and they want me as part of their Mixed Reality team 🤔🤔🤔
