In the US, that would be essentially a recall. It isn't the same thing, though. You have the ability to force early elections by votes of no confidence and the like. In other words, you can signal confidence in the government during sessions. We only have the recall, which is a fairly different thing. They also very rarely work. They can happen at state, local, or federal levels, and generally require some number of people to sign on just to get the recall election. Getting the number of people to sign on isn't easy, but not too hard. All you need is a small percentage of disgruntled people. It can be quite small, too, because most recall rules are based on total number of signatures, not percentage of the voting public, and either way, the numbers are small. So, if you have 5% that really hate some politician, you have enough to get a recall vote so long as you can find that 5%, but if that's all there is, you will lose the vote, because only a fraction of the 95% have to turn out and the recall will fail. For that reason, recalls very rarely work.

Your votes of no confidence are a simpler process in the end, in most cases, because they aren't a vote of the entire country. In a way, it's a bit nuts what we are doing: Have an election to determine whether or not to have an election before the normal election. Some recalls at least combine the first two such that it is, 'have an election to replace the incumbent with somebody else.' Still expensive, though.

You can see much worse things anywhere, but they aren't allowed here. Note the pruning of images from the Post Race thread, and so forth. The lines on this forum are much more cautious than they are in other parts of public media. Technically, the only totally safe place to draw the line on a programming forum is to eliminate CC entirely and leave it as just programming. I think that would make the site clearly worse, but it requires that people self police when it comes to certain images and language. People are usually quite good at that, here.

Yeah, that's a reach. Neil Young has spent his entire career doing things like this, often to the detriment of his career and income. We have been discussing for months, but when the other person is dishonest and do not want to answer to any of the strong arguments we make, and just want to attack using invalid arguments (that were already invalidated by our evidence -that they didn't see anyway-), it is turned into a wasted time.
I already said that I was not going to respond, or to even read, some people posts.
They can post whatever they want, but I'll ignore.
If they are worried about "other people reading" (that is another falsehood anyway), they can post their rebuttal for them (I won't read).

I see them as dogs that bark every time I pass.

I value my time, I don't feel myself obligated to answer any nonsense posted as a rebuttal.

I very much value valid arguments, but they seem to be too few to spend time on those messages.

A lurker who's been reading this thread who delurked. I might have missed a few things, But I've been reading this thread on the sidelines. Why is that so hard for you to believe?

If someone counters your info, or presents you with something you don't agree with, you and Baka always go off the deep end with a smear and insult campaign. Baka calls members enemies, and now you see everyone as dogs. Come on!

If I missed it, and you guys were also called dogs or enemies, whatever, that's also not right.

I prefer to read healthy conversations where everyone is open minded, minus insults and smears.

Literally the first link has the following in big bold text at the very top of the article: "The following is a pre-print and has not been peer reviewed. It reports new medical research that has yet to be evaluated and so should not be used to guide clinical practice". I honestly can't be bothered to waste my time checking the rest.

As for Neil Young and Joe Rogan, Neil did not pull his catalogue in response to Joe's views on vaccines. He pulled them in response to a conversation between Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson in which they said that a black professor wasn't black. He went on to say that the word black should not be applied unless someone is "100% African from the darkest place where they're not wearing any clothes all day and they've developed all that melanin to protect themselves to protect themselves from the sun". You can find the conversation here. The quote above starts at 0:30. I actually quite like Joe Rogan on the whole, he invites all sorts views both comfortable and uncomfortable and it leads to some interesting conversations. But in that segment he displayed an astonishing amount of ignorance tending toward outright racism and I'm not surprised there's been backlash. But the backlash has nothing whatsoever to do with his medical views.

We have. Repeatedly. We've cited and linked to actual peer reviewed medical papers as sources which you have not engaged with. We have challenged your sources and found them wanting. The problem you face is that your arguments cannot be described in any way as "strong".
