Adding Message count/badge on task icon?
Hello,
i wonder how to add a badge for unreded messages/notifications to the taskbar-icon of my program.
Messenger like WhatsApp or Skype have this option and for Thunderbird there are Addons for that.
Because of the red circle badge of WhatsApp for example is overlapping the normal 24x24px icon i am sure its no switching of the current icon it should be an function for an overlay.

Maybe you know how the other programs are doing this.
Thank you very much in advance!

This seems relevant:

That post is a bit old and they have since posted non-preview versions of those packages.

Thanks for your answer.
So if i got it right, i can integrate the Win10 WinRT API to achieve this.
When integrated correctly, can you tell me how to add the badge to the task-icon?

I've never done it before myself. I've never actually used any of those APIs.
