Java query
Thanks. Can anybody recommend any decent articles/sites/books to learn Java?
Also, how do Apache, iPlanet and Tomcat fit into the world of Java? Are these all independent of eachother? I am a little confused.
Thanks again.

Click this link, it will only be up for a short time, so save it to your computer and then read it. It's a big tutorial on Java programming. It's a a big file (2.30 MB), and way to big to upload on to the VBForums, so I put it on my webserver.

One of the best places to start learning is Sun itself -
java.sun.com
Apache and Tomcat are java based webservers, typically used in java development to host the java runtime, jsp's, and servlets. Tomcat is very similar to Apache, however tomcat is more of a 'personal' version. If you are just now learning java, I would recommend staying away from these for a while, as they can be pretty confusing and hard to set up and configure.
I have not heard of iPlanet.

Here are some more links too:
These two are tutorials:

This one is Sun's API documentation: (Learn to use these as they are the easiest way to find answers...)

No. Not yet.

I shut the firewall down as well, so that it will accept people.
I think some people must've got through, because I was quite a bit laggy.
Did anyone get through?

Stupid webserving program!
Anyways, if you still can't get it, I've upload it to VB-World Yahoo! Groups, just sign up and get it, it's in my folder.
Sorry, don't got a web page, the host deleted it, I had upload a command line program and the host thought it was pirated software. They don't want to listen to what you have to say, meanies <cough>Angelfire</cough> .

I found out why it isn't working, I had the wrong IP Address. Sorry, I have several IP Addresses, so I got confused a bit.
It's working now.
Java Programming Unleashed.doc
Remember, it'll only be up for a short time, so get it quick.
As I'm on a 56k modem, so it will go down and the same file won't always be there.
And also note that my IP Address changes everytime I reconnect, so this link won't be up for very long, since my IP Address is never the same.
