    Angry Deleting threads

    http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.p...hreadid=105936

Oh come on... That thread (Afghani weather forecast) was quite mild compared to many. What did you want to go and do that for?

If you're going to go around deleting threads, could you at least let the thread originator know? It's plain bad manners if you don't.

...and it was turning out to become quite civil. People spent enough time trying to educate others and now its gone to ****.

Yet you leave the new Afghanistan marathon. What type of guidelines are youy folowing as you don't seem to be very consistent in applying them.

    Damn right.

If you had a problem with the attachment, you could have removed it or asked me to remove it. That would have left the rest of the thread for people to continue their (reasonably) civil discussion. Deleting the whole bloody thing was uncalled for.

I have to agree. Whats wrong with warning people about when they are stepping over the line, or editing individual posts. You are constantly asking us to clean up chit-chat, but you are not applying any sort of consistency to you implementation of your own rules (if you have any).

Don't get me wrong, I think lots of things in chit-chat get out of hand, but randomly deleting threads is not going to help matters (all it's doing is making people annoyed).

As I posted in a different thread, how about editing individual offensive posts and warning the poster. If they continue then implement some sort of punishment (banning etc.). But don't punish the rest of us by removing threads just because some individuals start using them as a forum to fight. That is simply not fair on the other denizens of Chit-Chat.
