I have made a program which can monitor a lot of things like Memory, Hard Drive and CPU etc etc etc... What I'd like it to monitor is the Modem and Registry. Those are the only two features missing from my program.

Is there anyway to see if the Modem is sending or receiving data? Yet another question, is it possible to open the default connection to the internet? I've looked everywhere but you have to specify the name, and this program is going to be distributed.
