    Control the Serial Port

    i have Electronic attendence Machine (Bar code reader type)
    i want download all the data at the machine through VB Program
    how can i do this.
    the machine is connet through serial port (com1 or com2)

    Before you get into any heavy coding, you can probably try it out using Hyperterminal ('free' with Windows) and a modem cable.

    Most RS232C equipment of this type works by you sending it some ASCII text and it making a reply. You'll need the manual for the machine, to know what code to use.
