That stands into almost everything, from Politics to films to music to science to technology (aka windows 10, Iphone, Windows Phone).
A lot of people simply count to "idiots" to use their creation so they can make money. So the more the idiots the better.
Of course there is the reverse. Something that most of the people think idiotic but a small amount does not. IMO those are the things that are mostly non idiotic.
On Tara's case, I would agree that some scenes are completely idiotic but I love them anyhow. For example on "From dusk till dawn" , a vampire in impaled on a pool table and it's "balls" are going inside the pool slots. As idiotic as this may be, I adore that scene!
