I'm not sure if it's just me, the forum, or if there's something in between that's gone wrong, but I've noticed recently - and I'm not sure I can pinpoint exactly when other than sometime this week - that images in posts no longer seem to display properly.
Instead, this is what I see... a broken image symbol, the file name, and some statistics.
is it just me, or is there a larger problem with the forum?

NOTE - I haven't looked from home, so it could be just an issue from work... I'll try to remember to look from home tonight.
Posting a URL to an existing thread would have been nice
I've added an attachment to my post to test.
In my case, pick a thread, any thread... it doesn't seem to matter. What I see each and every time is what I posted - or what I think I posted because I can't even see that...

weird. Maybe it's some special admin power you have. All I see in your post is a grey box with "Attached Image" and a paper clip... which is more than I usually see. I forgot to check when I got home last night. Hopefully I will remember tonight... but tonight is also family D&D night so.... dunno...
I noticed this a couple of days ago. I tried another browser as well (I normally use Firefox). I assumed it was something related to my work place. I don't have any issue seeing the attachments at home on another computer. I haven't tried my work computer from home, not logged in to the company network, yet to see if it is specific to the computer, or the network.
I guess I'm in a little early, and have a house close to work I can check, so I thing I'll head over there and give it a shot.
It looks like I can't see the one technome added, just the textual information, but I can see the one (at least I see what looks like an ad, so I assume it was an image) that Steve added. I didn't think I saw it while at work.
I attached an image here, and if it works as it has the last couple of days, I shouldn't see it.
Well, I did a preview post, and I do see it (I'm currently in Advanced reply mode).
I guess I'll close the browser and VPN into the company network and see if I can still see my and Steve's attachments.
p.s. VPN'd in I still see the attachment I just added and Steve's. I guess I'll head back to work and see if I can still see them when directly connected to the company network. Perhaps it depends on how the attachment is done. In the current case, rather than being an image that I just freshly picked from the computer and uploaded, while in the normal reply mode, I went advanced reply, and used manage attachments to select an image I already had uploaded.

I can still see Steve's and my attachments. Going to try to attach a new image using the Insert image in the regular reply window.
Ok, that create an ATTACH tag entry in the post, which shows as a Link. If I click on the link I get a "Web Category Blocked" message, so that is definitely a corporate filter preventing access.
Now, I'll remove that and go advance, and use Manage Attachments to select the same file to see if that works.
Ok, that didn't work. I just have a gray block with "Attached Images" title, but no images that I can see here. So, my take on it, which is what I figured a couple of days ago, is that some corporate IT protection is going on that interferes with certain types of attachments to protect against possible images with embedded code being pulled in. But, depending on how the image is tagged in the web page, it might still show up. I don't know enough about web page implementation to bother trying to research it further. I just won't be able to do some things from work, which probably shouldn't be done anyway.

It could be just me. I just remembered that there was a network security update that was pushed out over the weekend. I took our our ability to do scan and email from the network printers initially... so it's possible that it's also messed with my ability to see certain attachments/images here on VBF. Weird that it's only attachments. Other images are fine.

I'm sure, in my case, it has to be some security filter that our company is keying on. I'm on the same computer at home right now, and I can see the attachment in post #7 fine. But when I attached it while at work, I couldn't see it at all. It just looked like a gray box with the "Attached Images" title on it. I guess I already mentioned those symptoms. It will be interesting when I get back to work whether I still see the image in post #7, or not, as I could see the image post #6 while at work, but not the one in #7. There must be some difference in how they're attached that gets by the security filter on one, and not the other. I'm not sure how that works.
Perhaps, now that I'm at home, and the filter isn't active, the image is showing and once I'm back at work, the image is already cached locally, so is displayed from the cache which isn't subject to the network filtering. That would also explain why I could see the image in post #6 while at work. I attached that one when I was not at work, so it must be displaying now from a local cache.

I can see them fine with Windows 7, Firefox (66.0.2) & Kaspersky.

OK. Now that I'm at home... I can see all of the image in this thread (and others) just fine... so I'm going to chalk it up to something that my company has done on their end recently. I'm not sure what it is they've done, and I don't know that I'm going to ask them to look into it, but at least I know it's likely to be just me, and I'll have to deal with it some how.

Me as well. I wasn't planning on bringing it up at work either.
Sounds like a blocking issue on the user side. Is this thread resovled at this point? (Yeah, I could see all the images).
