Auto-Refresh
I would be nice for the forums to refresh every few seconds.
Maybe something like this in the HTML: <META HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="500; URL=http://www.vbforums.com">

Should be an option in User CP rather than a forum-wide setting methinks

HTML doesn't allow that sort of thing; you'd have to have a Java applet or something that would refresh the page on each new reply. He's talking about (in his example) every 500 seconds the page would automatically refresh.

Mmm, I don't like this idea. Us guys (and gals) who surf from work would have massively high page hits logged against VBW (even though the browser is sitting in the background) and would probably be taken into the bosses office and spanked.

If your boss is a hot member of the opposite sex, I see no problem with that

We used to have this (I didn't realise it got taken out) and I found it very annoying. I'd rather just refresh the page myself when I want it refreshed.

A while ago, the pages used to refresh, but people complained and John removed the refreshing.
