Modulators!
Anybody know where to get a cheap cable modulator that takes S-Video input and can modulate it to any cable channel, like, say, Channel 99? I want to be able to play DVDs on a certain channel in my house.

But how much are they? There are a bunch of rack-mount ones at school, but they said I can't have any.

I don't think that is possible. don't you have to hook up your computer to your vcr in order to get the video on your computer or vise-vera? if you put the s-video in your tv (if it takes it) then you won't have cable into your tv. and you will only be able to play you dvd on channel 3. and what is wrong with channel 3?
besides you won't have permission to make that modulator run in the frequency to display on that channel. that will be interference with all of the other channel frequencies. you would need to talk to the FCC I think about that. you can get busted if you don't comply. and that is a big ticket if anybodt complains.

It is only a local thing inside my house, so the FCC doesn't have to know. And it will work. And if not, hell, I can find uses for a modulator.

and when the cber's use there radio on mess up your tv stations, I suppose that is only a local thing right? wrong they can get in big trouble if someone complainded about it. and they would even have to tell you.
so you never answered my question, what is wrong with channel 3?

I already said, the VCR is on channel 3. And I can't use channel 4 as we actually watch that channel.

right the VCR is on channel 3, sooooooooooooo what, how else do you watch DVD's and videos, it has to be on 3 to watch them doesn't it, what are you trying to do watch 2 channels at once?
don't you have cable going in to your vcr then it goes to your tv?

Alright...
Channels 2 to 125 are normal cable channels
Channel 3 is a VCR on each TV (except for my computer, the burner is the VCR )
Channel 99 will override cable channel 99 (just like 3 overrides 3) and will be playing whatever my computer is showing
