FAQs and Code Library
Anyone who's been following the VB-World Yahoo! Group the past week or so will be aware of an effort to store articles and code submitted by members, in a system similar to PlanetSourceCode, although ours will be much much w00ter, because, in the words of plenderj, "We 0wnz "
However, anything like this will need an editor of some kind, so I was asked to post this poll of who you want as an editor...
PS: This list isn't meant to imply anything, it's just the names he thought of off the top of his head

writing software in C++ is like driving rivets into steel beam with a toothpick.
writing haskell makes your life easier:
reverse (p (6*9)) where p x|x==0=""|True=chr (48+z): p y where (y,z)=divMod x 13

Head honcho.
Basically the person that would be allowed dictate where code samples go and what not.
The idea is that any project needs someone to lead it. Even if that person does ****all, there has to be someone to make decisions. So thats what the editor would do.

Well, people who are not a member of the VB-World Yahoo! Group couldn't really be editor, as they don't really know what's going on.
And I believe there may be some people in the poll that aren't members. So they couldn't really be eligible, because they don't have complete details as to what's going on.
Just mentioning that fact.
Anyways, I was reading email, forgot though, who's idea was it really, who started it? And who has the most knowledgable skill with web pages and all those areas and who has the most time to spend on it?
That is the person that should be the editor.
Basically set up something and then, also have news updates or whatever automatically sent to the group.
It's a great idea, having basically the main facts about FAQ that are asked everyday and answered with the same answers everyday. At least, if people used it, they're wouldn't be many of the same questions asked, as they'd be answered in the FAQ site we are to produce.

Oh bugger Looks like it would be me, but...
...since I wrote most of the site then it can't really be me (I can't really do tech stuff and be editor)

tbh, I really dont care who gets the job as long as the project gets going.
We dont necessarily need someone in charge, but I do think it would be a good idea. Anyway I'll keep banging out code samples and articles....

Well, it's all your choices.
As plenderj stated, we don't even need a person doing it, we can have several trustful people.
By trustful, I mean that you all agree on a design and not ruin other works and discuss with each other about something you don't like and agree on change or whatever.
Kind of like Linux, I guess... .

Okay this is my idea of how it could work. Suggestions and comments, please
1. Go to section you want to submit for
2. Submit code, supplying your username and password (*)
3. It goes into a queue to be edited (so Matt, those thousands of items are gonna take a while, we'll all need to chip in doing those)
4. The trusted editors can each access the queue, and can select to edit a newly submitted item. There will also be a list of in-progress items (an item is in-progress when it's been selected by an editor) available.
5. The item, when edited, is finally submitted and moved to its final place in the DB, and is then available to be viewed.
* Where to get these from? Should I have it so you need to register as well on that site, or should it try and get it from vBulletin? I think the former would probably be easier in this case but you can always supply a VBForums.com username so that can be linked in.

Of the VB Forum Gods listed above, the only one I never heard of is Jotaf98. But I voted for parksie since I count this very thread as evidence of who wants to be the editor and who wants to decline the offer anyway.
I was mildly surprised that parksie didn't want to "edit" out the "Other" option for this poll though.
The FAQs and Code Library is an excellent idea. Good Luck Guys!

Well, I can't really be the editor because if I have to maintain the pages and the DB as well I'll be a bit overstretched.
Nobody gave any comments on my idea, so I'm gonna do it anyway

I agree.
PS: It's coming on quickly now. So far we have...
Logging in
Viewing current submissions
Editors can see the queue of non-edited (separated into new and in-progress)
Editors can view individual pre-edit submissions
At the moment I've still got to code up actually editing the damn things, but that'll come soon
PS: I decided to stuff vB integration
