i know that this event is SO ****ing tragic that no one has stopped to think, how was this allowed to happen?? i mean two planes flying over lower manhatten at a low altitude should have been noticed, the one over washington is understandable coz that is actually a flight path used by almost every plane leaving washington

fair point, but no warnings were not given to anyone, they didnt even detect them, i know that it probably couldnt have stopped it, but they could have started evacuating, and that may have reduced the number of people in tower 1 who had to sit above the planes crash point and wait to die
actually, thinking about, these guys shouldnt have even gotten on the plane at boston, there should be higher security on domestic US flights
and EVEN if they had gotten off the ground, someone should have detected the plane going DOWN instead of LEFT
Okay, so you shoot the plane down. How do you know what they were going to do? Nobody knew they were headed for the WTC. You say about evacuation, but had that occured to them, they'd have to evacuate everyone in every building...impossible.
You also run the risk of killing anyone on the ground.
I think under the circumstance, without the benefit of hindsight, they should not have shot down the plane, because they could just have wanted to go elsewhere, as is the case with most hijackings.
Radar picture quickly drawn by me based on what radar images I saw on T.V.
Red = planes that took off in Boston, crash into trade center towers.
blue = NYC plane that crashed into Pentagon.
green = WDC plane that didn't make it to Whitehouse(It's target) - crashed 80miles S.W. of pittsburg.
All of those flights made dramatic course changes and were fully loaded with fuel. The aircraft were big dbl-deckers so they did more damage.
It all happened too fast for anything to be done.
The Blue plane dissappeared from radar just after annoucing a destination change halfway between Pitts and WDC. Possibly from flying so low it clipped power lines.
It is rumored the the passengers in the green plane retaliated causing it to crash.
I hope this clears it up for how this happened.
