yes kovan, i have pointed this out in another thread (it was posted by abdul), people have no reason to believe that it was even a foriegn country yet (the oklahoma city bombing was an american terrorist) but they are immediately pointing a finger. A lot of poeple on these forums are getting angry and doing a whole lot of name-calling because poeple have different views. I respect the opinions of others on these forums, and if they feel that this attack was needed, let it be... i do not believe that this should have happened, and personally i think that those who are responsible should be killed.

(the oklahoma city bombing was an american terrorist)
There's no longer any doubt that this was done by an Islamic country. There's very little doubt that it was orchestrated in and funded by the nation of Afghanistan; specifically Osama Bin Laden. The Oklahoma City bombing was merely a load of explosives into a building. This was a very well organized operation involved dozens (hundreds?) of people; it's impossible for something like this to happen domestically.

no it is not, i know that it was a different country, but it is possible that it is domestik. Adam why do you think that it would be impossible to be domestic... we are as capable of destroying ourselves as other nations are capable of destroying us.

I didn't say it had anything to do with Islam, I said that it has to do with Islamic/Arabic/related nations.

Adam why do you think that it would be impossible to be domestic...
Because an operation like this cannot be performed without being detected by the CIA, NSA, FBI, DOJ, or any other TLA that makes up the Government of the United States.

adam, does that make you happy... he did not want americans to die!! now you can shut your ****king mouth adam!
I don't believe I've said anything unnecessarily derogatory towards kovan, especially on a day like today. I do not think you, nor he, has the right to be so abusive towards me.

How can you say that I've made personal attacks??? I've repeatedly had to calm down people who were making terrible statements about Moslems, Islamc, Arabia over what's happened today. I can't believe you could say such a thing!

you may all disagree with me but I do agree with adam that it was orchestrated by a group of people. It must have had tons of people to get 4 planes up in the air and be successfully hijacked (accept 1 was not done so successfully).

    i

just heard it over the news.. the 4th flight wasnt shot down...

apparently .. as soon as the plane was hijacked.. the jackers started killing the flight crew with their razor blade weapons.. and three guys rushed the jackers and i assume the plane must have crashed because of the struggle for the control of the plain..

oh well...it's over and done with

Just out of interest, why does everyone keep saying that it would take loads of money to organise this.

It costs nothing to hijack a plane. You can learn to fly a jet pretty cheaply (I'm assuming that they skipped the hard bit... landing). And if you were going to kill yourself and needed cash, you could just go and get a huge bank loan.

So why should it require lots of financial backing?

It costs a lot of money to learn to fly...£60+ /hour.

If this gang did have a "guv'nor" type person, he would need the money to send them to the states. He would also need to buy the plane tickets for the domestic flights to allow these hijackers to get on board.

Once the plane's in the air, there's nothing to it. You really only have the joystick, the rudders and the throttle to worry about. Any maniac could do it without any training - it's no harder than driving a car.

Getting flights to and within the States isn't too expensive, either.

Don't forget these flighs were going from the east coast to the west coast, quite a long way. Got to be a few hundred each, muliplied by how many hijackers they're were.

As for flying planes being no harder than driving a car, have you ever piloted one?

    Just checking

They would have at least to understand the physics associated with large jets, and be fairly competant. Would they hijack aircraft with no flight experience, and run the risk of ruining it all by crashing short of their intended target?

no it wasn't, a heroic young man called his family on his cell fone, and said something to the effect of "I know we are going to die so me and another person on this flight are going to attempt to crash this into the ground"... it is believed that they gained control, and struggled until the plane hit in a nosedive into the ground. and all but that hit their targets... noe were shot down
