    Talking Happy Birthday Dilenger4 and about 11 of the filburts

    Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and you just water down your vodka.

    I reply to every thread where i have something to add.

    There's nothing wrong with wishing someone a happy birthday, is there? Or is that forbidden by Islam...

    Use
    writing software in C++ is like driving rivets into steel beam with a toothpick.
    writing haskell makes your life easier:
    reverse (p (6*9)) where p x|x==0=""|True=chr (48+z): p y where (y,z)=divMod x 13

    Yes, happy (belated) birthday to you all.

    It really sucks about the WTC collapsing It's dominated the British television channels, all terrestrial channels cancelled normal programming to bring news reports, with one channel staying w/ the news from 2PM (9PM NYC time), till 7PM (2PM NYC time) and then resuming news bulletins from 7:30PM till 8PM, then from 9PM till 11PM, finally with another bulletin at 00:30 for goodness knows how long (I went to bed). For those in the UK wondering which channel it was (if you don't already know - duh!) it was ITV1.

    It's a real sad day for us all.......

    BBC1 was basically dedicated to it from about 2PM until after 2AM.

    True, but it was a simulcast from BBC News 24.

    Yep, but it was still another channel's worth (considering I don't have Sky or digital).

    Yeah, I guess so. They should create a terrestrial channel 6 which simulcasts a famous news channel (News 24, Sky News, etc), and if there is major news, just put a banner at the bottom of the others saying "Tune into channel 6 for important breaking news" or something, instead of disrupting all the viewing.

    course you could just get Sky/ITV Digital

    Unfortunately, channel 5 was definately the last terrestial channel.

    Are you sure? I mean, can't BBC or Sky launch a 6th channel if they wanted to? (Although I bet it would impact the quality of DTT if they did)
