    Hurricane Irma

Anyone else affected by this? I'm in SC, so it's still a few days out, but the Governor has already declared a State of Emergency... and it looks like it's taking a turn that will skirt the edge of Florida and trudge right up the coast slamming into SC. I'm hoping it'll degrade along the way, but if it doesn't we've got our plans for getting the helloutta here.

Get out while you can... And we hope all goes well for you and your family and neighbors.

Course all the disaster money has already been spent
Wi-fi went down for five minutes, so I had to talk to my family....They seem like nice people.

My bother is on the way up north from Coco Beach...I lived in Florida for ten years and had a couple of brushes but no direct hits. It is sobering to see a man sized piece of sheet metal flying through the air like paper.
    Please remember next time...elections matter!

Harvey was bad, but this one's going to be a major problem. Get out of its way if you can, and if you can't I hope your hunkering down goes well
This answer is wrong. You should be using TableAdapter and Dictionaries instead.

    Re: Hurricane Irma

If I recall correctly, seems like a recent projection had Irma moving northwest and not affecting the SC east coast.

Although I'm far away, my thoughts are with these people, especially the children and animals.

I also see the zoo animals (Florida) are not being moved. Hopefully it was not a bad decision. (Just saw on our local news some animals are moved into saver locations within the park)

Strongs for all of you out there.

I'm in Austin, so far enough away not to worry about this one, but jeez is it scary-looking. I hope the damage to your area isn't very severe. Florida's going to get hit hard. Having this on the tails of Harvey would make it harder for federal assistance to respond even if we did have a compassionate administration.

What the heck is up this month? Hurricanes. Wildfires. Earthquakes. We're only missing volcanoes and tornadoes.

    Re: Hurricane Irma

    Pole shifting.

    And it will become worse.

    According to predictions...

It all depends how quick everything will happen (think: city of Atlantis).

    Edited:
There are other factors in play too, so we can not say with finality which effect which, for instance:
    Niburu
    El_Nino
Climate change (because of all of above and other influences)

Actually, when any person connect current weather and plate-shifting to only one factor - that person is totally wrong.

It's similar to a program written - many things can make it "broken"

    I'm in South Africa.

    Ed:

We have an earthquake about four months ago of 5.1 (epi-centre was 8.something). I'm on the 4th floor of a building of flats (apartments), and thought it will topple. But the "old-ones" (1954) knew how to built properly.

Flash floods in the Mohave are nothing.. they happen all the time. That's nothing new.

Fortunately I'm now out of the main cone of uncertany, but only just, which means it's going to be one heck of a tropical storm. Still, we're plenty prepared for it and no longer need to evacuate. At least we're not directly on the coast which still has to deal with high tides and a storm surge.
