Windows XP filesystem based on SQL Server?

Windows XP filesystem based on SQL Server?

Just something I heard a little while back and I was quite interested.

I've got both WinXP and SQL Server 2K installed. If it is true then is there a way to connect to my filesystem as a database using the Enterprise Manager or Query Analyzer or just some other program through ODBC?

Cos I'm curious and mad. And I wanna risk corrupting my filesystem!!

This is however not totally new, Oracle did it already and wasn't a big succes.

I've read a little more about it recently. Apparently it's an ideal for the future that MS would like to do but'll prob never manage. They originally wanted to do this kinda thing about 10 years ago but still haven't managed!

    Question

Is Active Directory not a step in this direction?

I really wish you'd stop replying to my threads with the same stupid answer. I bet you've not even bothered to try it.

    matthewralston, don't get angry.
Posting such answers as goudabuddha just reflexs his IQ !
He probably doesn't even know what .NET is all about.
(It's not even a .NET thread here :-))

I wasn't angry at first. Then I realised that he'd replied to two other threads of mine with the same comment. Prat!!

I think one of the other ones was about .NET ...
