Hmmm, I can barely hobble around in it myself.
I mainly use it for creating Motocross Madness tracks.
For the most part I just use it for rendering.

    Here's a good link. They have a board(what site doesn't these days)

Click Help|Tutorials. If you for some reason, dont have cd2, which you should because you legally purchased it as any good person would do, search for it on kazaa.

I don't see the moral in purshasing an application, anyways thanks for suggestions
My problem is to use the viewports effectively, I don't know how to move forward in perspective view, other than zoomin which isn't what i want, i'll check on the forum in case nobody knows

I kind of got lost in your moral sentence. Did you mean you bought it or didnt? If you did buy it, I need cd2. If you didnt buy it and you have cd2, I need cd2.

For anyone else who wants to partake in this search for disc 2, the Limewire file we are looking for is "3d Studio Max 4 - 2.zip" It is on for about 10 mins at a time, then disappears. I have 7% of it so far. Another place to get it is by searching oth.net, which turnes up many sites but they all have things on them so you can only download it if you upload something else.
If anyone has disc2 please upload to the ftp site above. thx

I don't think you can. Try putting a camera in your scene and using the camera viewport instead of perspective. You can get exactly the same view if you position your camera correctly, but it is much easier to manipulate & you can use undo if you want to play around with your view.

I've tried the camera but i want to move it with some simple keys like the perspective view, i mapped hotkeys for toggle dolly/pan camera but it's way more annoying to switch between them all the time
