API Port Scanner

Yep, it's me again!

Anyways, I would like to create a port scanner, and I don't want to use an ocx. It has to be API.

This program I'm working on already pings, converts hosts to ips and vice versa, etc, via API.

Does anyone here know where I can find an example project that port scans via API, or the code to do so. Either one would be great, so I can learn how to do this.

Actually, maybe all I need is to know how to connect to a certain port on a certain ip address, and how to do multiple threads of this.
