Hotmail doesn't use POP3. They want you to use their interface so you can look at their advertisements so they can make money.

    Lightbulb Correct

Yahoo has had POP3 option for as long as I can remember. Hotmail does not have a standard POP3 access, I believe Microsoft does has some strange system for Outlook to collect it though.

If you want to use the Yahoo! POP3 Collection you have to set it in your Options section of your account, and if you want to send via there SMTP server you must have the from email address being your @yahoo.com address or it will reject the request.

    hope that helped

hotmail and yahoo both have pop3 support, but this isnt what it sounds like... all this means is you can pick up your pop3 email IN your yahoo and hotmail accounts.

I don't actually goto mail.yahoo.com I only use my VB program I made to collect and send mail from yahoo. they have both. You can use Yahoo to collect POP3 from other site as well as access your Yahoo acount via a POP3 Mailbox, Hotmail only provides a wierd ass HTTP way of access they mail.
