If you want real virus bulitins try cnet.com, they have a decent dispatch... or you can goto any anti-virus software site as mentioned above... I think mcaffee has one of the best online resources for identifying viruses.

Thanks for the info guys...the old addage "better safe than sorry springs to mind".
It's bad enough when people create these viruses, now we have to contend with equal idiots spreading hoaxes!

WHAT THE HELL PLEASURE DO THEY GET OUT OF IT???

They have to be half-decent programmers to create these
viruses in the first place, so why don't they use their talents in a more constructive manner.

A guy I shared a flat with for my first term at uni used to do viruses, not malicious ones, just silly ones. (he was a Pillock BTW) he said that a lot of Hoax Virus warnings are viruses themselves. He claims that it's possible to attatch some ASM Code to the end of an email and that it will run if it is opened fully. (an email, not an attatched file) I don't know if he was just trying to impress me but he claims he attatched a little virus that just said to email him onto the end of a Virus warning, he Claims to have got 3,000 emails in the first.. I don't know, I never really listened to him.

It's one of the stories he repeated a lot of times and he didn't change it, he seemed to know what he was talking about too.

Anyone heared about this, or feel warned etc?

There is another virus out there with the subject: "I Love you", be warned

does anyone know how to delete an email message in Outlook express WITHOUT opening it? When I select the email just before deleting it, it opens it into the preview window, anyone know how to get around this? If i get this virus email, then ill have to open it to delete it! HELP!

I believe you are safe unless you open the attachment. Also, there are updates for most of the virus scanners available today.

even with the email thing I mentioned you're safe in preview mode, or just right click and hit delete(in outlook express) I honestly don't know if the email thing is true.

click on find
the type the subject of the message....
it will display the message,
delete it....
simple, go to the delete folder, and do the same.......

I've recently made a program that attaches itself to an email,
checks if the recipient is a virus programmer, and if he is it deletes
all their files





Another one of my jokes.
Quite sad really.

Anyway, I agree, virus programmers aren't real programmers
since the only reason they program viruses is that thay can't
think of anything else to do.

I would use an electric cattle prod to show them the right way to
deal with violence.

I don't know a lot about this Virus but from what I heard it wasn't a masterpeice. I'd respect someone who wrote something with very clever code that hides itself and replicates itself well, and does something genuinley funny and not harmful, but something that's badly coded that just deletes files, they should be shot.
