    Information

Does anybody know of a website that will list the pros and cons of using Access over SQL server. I need to convince my boss that SQL server is better than Access.
    Thanks
    Zack

no, but from what I remember SQL Server has better security and can hold as much Data as you like wheras access has limits, I think SQL server has more data types too. Check out Microsoft, they'll have a nice one sides buy SQL Server view.

It depends on the application. But here are couple of link for SQL Server vs Access:

Which is Faster: Index Access or Table Scan?

The most important question to ask is:
What is the database being used for?

If you're thinking small, with not too much traffic, and want ease of maintenance and programmability, then Access is the winner. But...
If you're looking at good-sized client/server stuff with oodles of security issues, n-tiered architecture, etc., SQL [or Oracle if you want to do really neat web-stuff] is the way to go.
When does one need to turn from Access to SQL/Oracle? How high is your routine annoyance level. Once the db gets over about 200Mb or simultaneous users exceeds about ten, Access just doesn't cut it any more. Pay the price, monetarily and learning-curve, go for SQL.
