Sorry, I did not know that it had skins with it now. I just downloaded the preview version of it once and it did not hav skins in it so there was not much difference.

I hope it has something more than skins. I hope it is smaller, faster, and 100% compliant with all W3C standards.

I also hope it is configureable, letting me install only the options I want.

It should also have multiple integrated windows so you can open as many pages as you want with one instance of the browser.

Actually, If IE6 has the same old interface then the previous version is still better than downloading it again...and now this version won't support Netscape-like plugins, java technology, and that quicktime player

I here IE 6 is loaded with Bugs. Cnet has suggested people to wait on this until they come out with a SP1 for this. It also does not support any Netscape pluggins. I guess it's Payback time. It will support ActiveX components as long as they match up to the buggy code. LOL...The way I understand it all these new apps based on XP, which IE 6 is, are going to be buggy. Microsoft just may end up taking themselves down......It wouldn't hurt my feelings. LOL...

it really does. my IE rarely ever crashes anyway..

i think the media bar should allow you to play MP3s on your drive from a playlist. and if you open a new window, the song its playing will still be playing. and if you close that window, whatever its playing will transfer over to the new window.


combined with iSpeed its pretty fast..

This is something I dislike about the MS approach to UI.

I don't want one application that does everything for me. Call me crazy, but... I want my web browser to only have web browsing code. I want my MP3 player, to only have MP3 player code.

Now I can understand a media player that supports MPx, instead of just MP3. And I can understand my web browser having hooks to start my media player.

But the two should be seperate applications, on the off chance that I like one and not the other. Or I upgrade one and not the other, or, heaven forbid, I just don't want one, just the other.

yeah, but i also like less clutter in my taskbar. but winamp takes care of the audio stuff. i think IE is microsoft best program. so what if its uninstallable and integrated into windows, doesnt matter to me. my windows hasnt crashed once since i installed 2k on it (which is more than a month now). i like IE being integrated, it makes it easier..i was reading a mag that said XP stood for xtended proceedings, yeah its pretty wrong of them to include/integrate everything...damn those meglomaniacs

I think you misunderstood me. I didn't say anything about different skins. I said it has a different skin and it is different. like Abdul said it is like the design of XP and I think that is ugly.

Will the ISPs supoprt this version after it is released because I can't get my inernet working right now on windows xp.

And how is this problem related to your ISP? The protocols have not changed. You have a problem in XP.

Yes and yes. IE just uses standard HTTP like any other browser, so any ISP worth a d*** should support it.

if you are running DSL then you might have to get rid of it. if Winxp doesn't support some of the stuff that your ISP has to have in order for the DSL to connect to them, then ya you will have to go without or get dialup. I don't think you should have any problem though as XP is not that much different than any other windows, as far as the networking goes.. I wouldn't think.

Linux on DSL might be a little harder. I don't know how to hook linux for DSL as I never had to do it.

it is a plug-in that you download and I think you can do it in VB. if I remember right someone asked this question about 3-4 months ago in the general forum, it might have been longer though.
