Luxury. In my day we didn't have all these fancy smilies. We just had to press shift and hit a number. And you hoped you hit the right number, because the BBS wouldn't let you use backspace because it wasn't mapped to delete.
Course, that was for those of us who had a shift. I didn't. I had to enter the hex code for whatever symbol I wanted. And if I got it wrong, well... then everyone thought I was mad when I was happy or happy when I was mad.
But we liked it!
