Hi,
I'm developing a VB6/Access 97 app that will run on a set of networked machines. I don't know ahead of time what type of networking will be used, possibly Novell, but most likely Win98 peer-to-peer. At the very least there will be a file server and one Win98 machine running at all times (probably all the same machine).
What I need to do is be able to set the clock on each machine when my software starts to match a central clock. It doesn't matter which machine controls the clock, they just all need to be the same due to time-critical data sharing that occurs.
I've seen mention of a Time Server for various platforms, but it's not clear how it works or even if it will work with Win98. Does anyone know how I might use such a thing in the environment I described above? If not, is there some other VB-compatible system I could use? Any tips on writing my own Time Server in VB and connecting to it from multiple machines?
Thanks,
