Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

Really? I thought you lived in Duck originally, but then moved to Balls

Seriously...what mobo are you getting or what mobo do you have? If you have an Asus mobo, get the Asus iPanel.

Asus boards are made with quality but i can't find an Asus board that I really like right now, so if you don't own one, look elsewhere, as the Epox 8k7a gigabyte 7dxr, or Abit kg7 can provide stability and more features at a good price.

All others..get a Digital Doc..they are supposed to kick ass..how many drive bays do you have?

I can be pretty sure LCD panels require drivers from windows. But i'll try and find a UK retailer that sells em, as they do whoop ass for winamp! w00t!

Right i have a AMD-K62 500Mhz in a pc chips motherboard, and at the moment i have two spare 5 1/4 slots, need to get a DVD for this thing, so what sort of panel can i get, do they have other functions apart from temp info ??

PC CHIPS??? ARE YOU F***ING NUTS?

well here's what you do, if you have spare parts lying around build a PC and sell it to an unsuspecting AOL-type friend

Forget case modding, get a new MOBO!!!

anyway, I'm pretty sure they do, but i'm not sure..

i don't want a new motherboard, as this computer isn't worth upgrading, and i am a student who needs his money, plus hopefully i might be getting a laptop

So what info can you give me about these info things then ??

Only get a laptop if you're heading for college or something, and even then get a low end one, as they are prone to breaking easily more than desktops..

$2000 USD spent on a nice laptop with CD burner, DVD, etc, can instead get you a low end laptop for under $1000 USD and a much better custom built Athlon desktop

http://www.amdmb.com/article-display.php?ArticleID=83 that's for the digital doc

I'm not sure where to get one in the UK (or balls, hehehehe ), try your small town computer hardware shop or some UK specialty sites.
