    Resolved [RESOLVED] Create VmWare VM's

I used to have a license for VMWare WorkStation 9 which let me create & run VM's but that was back when I was a student and got it through the University. Now I have a need to create a new VM but I don't have the cash to buy a new license, since there's the free Player to play the VM's is there a free program to create the VM's?

I'm more than a little confused when I checked their products page, it's all ESX hosts and HyperVirtualization software.
Currently using VS 2015 Enterprise on Win10 Enterprise x64.

According to their website you can use VMware Player to create new VM

From your signature->Win7 Ultimate x64 -> you can use Windows VirtualPC and get a free VM of Win XP Pro.

You can also install Linux for free. Other then that, you have to have an unused Win key code to install any flavor of Windows.

I've never used VMWare... I prefer VirtualBox by Oracle.... I installed it this past weekend on my new Win 10 machine.... and created a VM of Win 7 Pro.
Wi-fi went down for five minutes, so I had to talk to my family....They seem like nice people.

If I needed a WinXP VM I could do that, but alas I need to create a Win7 x64 (or 8.1 x64) VM, I have a couple unused keys for each OS & either version will run VS 2015, Sql Server, PHP Storm, Xamp, & GitHub.

Sounds like you're ready to go. Get the free version of VM Ware that dclamp linked to.

Keep an eye out for the option of dynamic or static hard drive size. I screwed up a few years ago and chose static and set the space to low. Once I met the size limit it killed the VM.

I ran into that back with Workstation 6 many years ago too.

Had a chance to play with VMWare Player 12, you can create the VM's with it for free.
