about to be fired for letching

For the whole story go to 'Not VB related but I desperately need your help' in the general VB questions section.

All I need to know is if the Index.dat file in cookies keeps a record of all sites visited and if so how do you clear it

    IE AutoComplete

On a similar note, how'd you get rid of items from the IE autocomplete? A bloke at work used my PC to sign up for something, so now whenever I go to fill in a first name field, his name crops up on the auto-complete list before mine. Since our names start with the same first two letters, I have to keep typing to get my name as the only one in the list.

Not a great hardship, but, as I'm lazy, it's an irritant.
Indecisiveness is the key to flexibility.

I don't know that this is absolutely secure, but in the cookies directory (there are 3 of them on my machine) you'll find index.dat

I opened it up in notepad, deleted all but the client version information

    Client UrlCache MMF Ver 5.

and everything seems to work fine.

I don't know if this clears the board or not, but I doubt that anyone will be able to reconstruct it. Of course, if you have a backup tape, it won't matter.

Also, of course, if it is at the point where the powers that be are looking, they probably don't need the damn thing to convict and terminate.

If you're going through a corporate network, then (if they care) you're screwed. They can just look at logs.
