Why oh why can't my work life be simple
As some of you guy's and girls know, I've been working for my current company for the las couple of years, Either working out on contract through them or doing in-house projects back here in hasting's. For the last 6 month's I have been working on this in-house project and it is slowly comming to an end. We have have ahd all sort's of problem's, with developers leaving and other things. I am quietly sitting at home tonight when I get a phone call from one of the guy's that does the contract's side of the company. A very large role has come up and it would be in best interests for the company for me to go for it (As I am allegedly the best person suited for it). as more and more information comes in, it turns out that I have now got to drive to birmingham for an interview. My boss has already cleared this, but I can see extreme reprecussion on the current project that I am working on. My project manager is going to go absolutley mental tommorow morning and I'm going to be stuck in the middle
so I won't be about tommorow daytimem and it looks like my enjoyment of not having to commute and stay away from work has come to an end , providing I get the job that is.

I'll be fine Katie, I'm starting to expect this kind of thing (You might remember when I had to go to for that interview and completly balls it up). I'll just go there and see what happens, you never know I might not even get the contract.

Well the interview went well, asnswered all the questions they asked, easily and got on with them fine, will find out on tuesday.
Sundance - to awnser your question. The company that i work for either assigns me to an in-house projects down here in hastings (No commuting, I live 10 mins drive away from work) or If they haven't got any work for me, contract's me out to other companies through the agencies. So I have been nicely working at home (at there main office) for the last 6 months and they now want me to do this other job (about 200 miles away from here) so I will have to stay away for the week. As for te money, it;s exactly the same wherever I go apart from living expenses when I work away.

HA HA HA HA!!!!
IanP has to put up with Brums!! Do you need the number for the Samaritans?
On the plus side, it means you're going to be that little bit closer to me, my lover.
Oh well, when does it start?
Hey guess what! I get to apply for MY OWN JOB this week! Isn't that cool?
Gentile or Jew,
O you who turn the wheel and look to windward,
Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you...

"Coventry"
I'd rather I didn't get this job as there is also another one that I am being touted for and that is in london for only 3 days a week

I'm in a wee place called Telscombe Cliffs - just your side of Brighton.
Not the most exciting place in the world, but pleasant enough for child-rearing.

you should all think yourselves lucky...
... I used to be a vb developer, but now work as a technical support consultant. I'm not even using VB anymore - the company I work for is a software house with programs written in Oracle.
I'm only there for two reasons :
i. it's the most money i've ever earned, even though I know I could do better,
ii. the office is 10 minutes walk from the house
Lazy ? Moi ? oh, to have a vb development role, working from home.........
you know when you've been woody'd
