Mdac_typ.exe
I am using the package and deployment (ya ya shut up) wizard un VB6. It says that my program requires the Mdac_typ.exe. What is this exe?? It adds over 8MB to my program!!. I dont want it unless i need it. Thanks.

The only thing this program does is File i/o,and processing. It has only basic controls, Command buttons, option buttons, text boxes, frames and labels. Nothing fancy. Do i need it?

No. Make sure all unnecessary components are unchecked (right-click the toolbox, select Components, and uncheck everything you can).
BTW, why post here instead of General VB?

I dont know...it didnt seem like a real VB question. And no im not accessing databases si i dont think ill need it. phew!. Thanks.

Ya. Thanks. All i needed were the Windows Common controls and the Common Dialog control. Lol it went from 9.3 MB to 1.75. Good good. Thanks 4 the help.
