As the multi-state lottery jackpot breaks $200 million, the media just can't seem to find anything else to report. Like you have any better chance of winning....
I like this quote.
ORKIN: If you have to drive 10 miles to buy a lottery ticket, you are about 16 times more likely to get killed in a car crash on your way to buy the ticket than you are to win the Powerball jackpot.

You're more likely to get struck by lightening twice in the same spot on a sunny day than winning then jackpot.

I'll have you know that I am going to win the lottery some day (even though ours is only up to 40 million) and I'm going to live in paradise and be naked and tipsy for the rest of my life and it is going to be wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I won 16 dollars last week..........It could happen!!!!!!!!

Lol i know. Optimism can be good. But theres a difference between that and fantasy. I read about a couple who were on the verge bankrupsy. So they sold everything they owned and soent several hundreds of thousands of dollars on lottery tickets in the hopes if winning the grand prize. They won a few thousand...but they lost everything in return. And yes....i an optimistic.

Government is another way to say better…than…you.
It’s like ice but no pick, a murder charge that won’t stick,
it’s like a whole other world where you can smell the food,
but you can’t touch the silverware.
Huh, what luck. Fascism you can vote for.
Humph, isn’t that sweet?
And we’re all gonna die some day, because that’s the American way

Even if u flew u would have more chance of dying! ... Is sad fact that most big lottery winners have completely ruined lives a few years after they win.. they are usually *addicted* gamblers anyway and lose most or all of their winnings and they of course lose friends in the process. That is why i buy a newspaper instead of a lottery ticket... a deliberate ploy to stay poor and happy

me too!
I can't see how it would change much. I mean, i'd have more money to spend on fast cars and fast women, but that's about it...i've not a gambler
People used to say i was addicted to scratch cards, but i only ever a few a week, and as soon as I left college I stopped buying them (all I had to do was cross the road to buy them, now I have to walk 1/4 mile so I don't bother). If I had an addiction, I would get down the road no matter what!

I've become rather weary of the lotto ever since that McDonald's scam.
