Resizing Bar

Hi, I wish to make my own resizing bar, say I have 3 controls and 2 command buttons (these will act as the resize bars) seperating the 3 contols from each other. I want to be able to click on the appropriate resize bar and drag it in to it's appropriate direction i.e. The horizontal moves up & down and the virtical movers left & right. While the drag is in process I want to be able to see an out line od the command button or the actual command button. (See diagram below)

Basically I just want to know how to move the command buttons but restricting them to their appropriate direction.

All the example I see are either crap! or are in ocx format so I can't see the source code.
