I wouldn't waste that much money on learning VB. I'll just buy VB books and download examples and the VB Help file is very helpful. I think I learned alot since I'm only 15 and I started when I was 12. VB isn't that hard if a child can do it. But if you want a job programming using VB, the employers might require a VB class. Well, I was bored and I put my two-cents in, so later

yeah, kids can learn VB, so.. you can too...

seriously, I am 13, and i started working with VB when I was 11. and now I am the master, just kidding, but i am alot better than when I started out, and I didnt even get a book on VB untill 3 months ago...
just search for websites on search engines, and ask here..
i have not been at this forum for very long but I have been at other forums, they are alot of help.
and if you must buy a book, I recomend you buy visual basic 6.0 from the ground up, osborne-mcgraw hill publishing, by gary cornell..
it costs $35 (US dollars) and is 932 pages long, and I think it is worth every penny, I have have only read 2 out of 26 chapters, but i have looked through it and it is really good. and the price is good too...

I can't see why you're objecting to the Idea of Getting paid to learn something you already know. Sounds like a good job to me.

No offense to our junior colleages, in fact I wish computers were around when I was your age.
I think what you might be missing, is that programming is much more than writing VB. It's all about logic, algorithms and solving problems. These are things you typically learn in school. I learned most of these concepts while getting my engineering degree.

I agree with Glenn.
I can't believe that people are actually taught VB in schools/colleges etc because it is a crap language and it's Microsoft's
The first lanuage I learnt was Modula2 which is stongly typed and doesn't have a GOTO so you have to structure your programs properly.
I think everyone should start first learn a properlanguage before regressing to VB
