a joke....
God comes and says, "I want the men to make two lines. One
line for the men that dominated their women on earth and the
other line for the men that were dominated by their women.
All the women can go on in with St. Peter."
Said and done. The next time God looked the women were gone
and there were two lines. The line of the men that were
dominated by their women was 100 miles long, and in the
line of men that dominated their women, there was only
one man.
God got mad and said, "You men should be ashamed of
yourselves. I created you in my image and you were all
whipped by your spouses. Look at the only one of my sons
that stood up and made me proud. Learn from him! Tell them,
my son, how did you manage to earn the single spot in this
line?"
The man replied, "My wife told me to stand here."

I started to say something extremely biting and cutting, but I realized that I hear the same tired "jokes" about henpecked men all the time, and undoubtedly you do also. This colors the way we see the world.
I sometimes work as a guard and escort with a women's abuse shelter. Tales of women abusing men just aren't as humourous as they were before I did that.

DerFarm, I appreciate that you have a valid and personal view on this situation and that these jokes may seem to be of bad taste becos of those experiences, but I still think that jokes serve many many good purposes (apart from a laugh ). They can help to ease pain, to make light of silly laws, ineptitude etc. OK, some are in bad taste for many ppl but it would be an unfortunate world if jokes were censored to meet majority views.
I read just the other day that becos all Pakistani *news* services are govt controlled, biting comics are used to provide ppl with a diff perspective of events and rulers and are even more valued than the *real* news.
I personally dont like racist jokes or overly crude ones and i thought that Mark's joke was hilarious. Rember that if you can't laugh at a situation you end up crying.
Regards
Stuart
